Hey Thriftanistas!
Happy New Year! I know I’m a few weeks late but it’s my first post for January! Every year, I document in my personal journal my plan to improve my life in some way and this year I wanted to share on the blog. For me, the health-related (eating healthy, exercise) and debt reduction techniques (save more, spend less) don’t work that well! Instead, I opt for resolutions that align with the woman I am becoming…..take a look inside of some of my goals for 2019!
Dress up & Look fabulous everyday.
No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up!
Thriftanistas, I have so many clothes in my closet that I can start my own boutique. There is no reason I should be in exercise clothes in the middle of the day or saving clothes for a “special occasion.” At least 4 times a week, I commit to be fully dressed when leaving my home and I will not reserve clothes for a special occasion.
Be on time!
“We all make time for what we feel is important in our lives.”
In my Beyonce voice, “I am a grown woman!” It’s not professional nor cute to be fashionably late. This year, I plan to arrive early to my engagements and politely decline last-minute offers.
Grow my brand!
There are so many ideas I have for my brand but my time management skills are lacking! This year, I’ve decided to divide my big ideas into smaller goals that are more achievable. Additionally, I want to network more with other thrifter’s and provide helpful content on the blog. So please be patient with me as I navigate these waters but I’m truly excited!
Indulge in more self-care activities!
Read a book. Change your hairstyle. Get a manicure or pedicure. Listen to music that motivates and inspire you. Write a list of things you’re grateful to have in your life and post it somewhere you can see it often. Take a class. Go wine tasting. Attend a local play. Go dancing. Take a day trip. Volunteer. Book an appointment at the spa. Write a review of a business you like. Intentionally reestablish contact with someone you’ve lost touch with or have unresolved conflict with. If there is conflict, resolve it and let go of the unnecessary baggage. Can you tell I’m ready?
Do you have any New Year’s resolutions? If so, I would love to read yours below!
