It’s (almost) the most wonderful time of the year, and I’m not talking about Christmas!  Fall is officially set to begin in a few days and I couldn’t be happier.  Fall is all about fashion, makeup and clearance sales!  I have noticed a lot of thrift stores have removed their summer clothing and have replaced it with the winter essentials. So make sure you are making your rounds at your favorite stores!  Check out the 4 things I think every fashionista needs to thrift for Fall….

Faux fur.  A good faux fur not only keeps you warm, but it can upgrade any outfit instantly! I found this vest at CKHD Thrift store for $6.99 brand new with the tags still attached.  It doesn’t matter if you are a wearing a coat or a small handbag a little faux fur will make your outfit look more expensive.  The trick, though, is to make sure you’re spending your money on things that don’t look cheap!  Thrifters make sure to inspect those items thoroughly! For non-thrifters check out a few options I picked below:

Cross body bag or Fringe.  It was a win-win situation when I came across this cross body bag with fringe at Plato’s Closet.  Unless you have been living under a rock, the only thing bigger that fur for fall-winter 2015 is fringe! Fringe works really well on accessories (handbags & shoes) and you can wear it anywhere!  I’m sure you probably have one (or a few) faithful crossbody bags in your closet by now.  Dust them off and use your coins to add fringe to the wardrobe!

Scarf. A scarf has to be the easiest and cheapest way to take fall to the next level.  While this may not be the best scarf to showcase, I thrifted this scarf to use solely as a turban for bad hair days.  I purchased this scarf for $.50 but most secondhand scarfs shouldn’t cost more than $5.00.  Every thrift store has a scarf section and most people (crazies) aren’t looking through it!  All the more for you….#winning!

Plaid.  Come on now, do I really have to mention this one? You can never go wrong thrifting anything plaid.  It is a staple item that can be worn with any season and if you want to grudge it up try mixing prints.  For my thrifters don’t forget to check the men’s section for shirts too!  I thrifted this plaid flannel for $.99 and you can expect to see more of it in the upcoming months!
