Hey Thriftanistas!
I have been trying to step my wardrobe up since I am the big 3-0! I am learning that dressing in your 30’s should infuse touches of maturity and sophistication to your look. Can we say Carrie Bradshaw? So I have started putting a little more thought into the outfits I wear and adding a few accessories to take it up a notch!
When I thrifted this dress, it fit my usual criteria: affordable, hug the hips and stops just above my calves. While, I know this criteria enhances my hourglass figure I challenged myself to add just a touch of a class. I knew I wanted to cover up the cut-out shoulders (I didn’t like them) and keep the look real simple. If you read my previous post a little faux fur will instantly upgrade any outfit and I was in search of some!
Dirt Cheap: $1.50 Target: $15.00
After a few unsuccessful trips to several thrift stores, I stumbled across this beauty at Dirt Cheap! With hardly any sewing techniques but an eye for creativity, I was operating on a wing and a prayer! I purchased two stoles and headed home to create a masterpiece! Ha!
Oh my goodness, I am so pleased with the results! I just uploaded a video to YouTube explaining how you can create this yourself or you can scroll do the bottom of the page!
Ladies, if you’re in a place where your finances aren’t where you want them to be, I encourage you to give thrifting a chance. I assure you, it’s definitely a lifestyle you can afford! Check out my photos below!
